What will my skin be like after my Hydrafacial?
After your HydraFacial™, you will be able to get back to your normal day. It is ok to wear makeup after your treatment, but to avoid reclogging your freshly exfoliated skin, we don’t recommend it. Many clients prefer to let their skin “breathe” and keep it free of any makeup after their treatment. Most clients notice cleaner, smoother, glowing skin right after the treatment.
Can I combine this with other treatments?
Yes, HydraFacial treatments can be combined with other skin procedures at the time of your treatment. Getting a Hydrafacial before micro-needling gets the skin in a healthy state by deep cleaning and thoroughly sanitizing the skin, perfectly prepping the skin for micro-needling. Getting a hydrafacial a week after micro-needling is great as well. The hydrafacial after micro-needling helps aid the skin in its healing process. Hydrafacial will help take off dry flaky skin that micro-needling can cause. The antioxidants plus from the hydrafacial will help hydrate the skin with hyaluronic acid and antioxidants. Adding a dermaplane would also be a great option for someone who wants to get rid of that soft vellus hair (peach fuzz). Combining these skin rejuvenation treatments can provide optimal results for an all-around rejuvenated appearance.
For clients dealing with acne, a Hydrafacial followed by a DMK treatment is a powerhouse combination to help combat breakouts while calming inflamed skin. During the consultation, your aesthetician will anaalyze your skin for candidacy and suggest other treatment op;tions if your skin concerns are unsuitable for bootcamp, if you are a good candidate for the Acne Bootcamp program, your aesthetician will walk you through the treatment protocol and discuss commitment to see if it's manageable for you right now.
WHAT IS LED LIGHT THERAPY?
LED Light Therapy benefits include increasing the amount of collagen in the skin, which can diminish the appearance of acne, dermatitis, eczema, rosacea, psoriasis scarring, and dun damage. LED Light Therapy also minimizes the appearance of lines, wrinkles, and other signs of aging.
How the Acne Bootcamp Program works?
Our Acne Treatment Program uses a comprehensive approach to treat acne. We combine the power of acne treatments with professional acne care products, and the guidance and expertise of a certified acne skincare specialist. All treatment and product selection are determined on an individual basis. What works for one person may not work for another. For this reason, we keep an eye on how your skin responds – making modifications to your treatment plan as needed. This initially requires an in clinic visit every two weeks for several months. Once your acne is under control, you will need to maintain your daily skincare regimen. To keep your skin healthy, follow up appointments are recommended for a monthly treatment with professional products.
What is Acne?
Acne is an inherited disorder of the pores – pores that shed dead skin cells much faster than normal. Normal pores shed about one layer of dead skin cells per day inside the pore. The acne-prone pore sheds up to five layers of dead skin cells per day and the body just can’t keep up. This forms the microcomedone, the beginning of all acne. Taking up to 90 days, it turns into blackheads or congestion under the skin; or if bacteria is present (which just loves to feed on the dead skin cells and oil), it turns into inflamed pimples or pustules and maybe even cysts.
How long will it take to clear?
Because it takes up to 90 days for acne to form, you may still have 90 days of acne that will surface. Our acne products and protocol will keep the new acne from forming that would surface 90 days from now. The Face Reality Acne System will have your acne under control in about three to six months (in most cases) depending on your type of acne. Some types of acne take longer to clear. Your Acne Specialist will customize a home care regimen that takes at least five things into consideration - your type of acne, your skin type, your skin color, your skin sensitivity and your environment. The biggest part of getting your skin clear will be your commitment to doing your home care regimen as instructed and following lifestyle guidelines.
What you must do:
- Your custom home care regimen twice daily
- Treatments and/or assessment from your esthetician every two weeks
- Home Care Adjustments – consistent adjustments to boost your home care regimen
- Lifestyle Adjustments - foods, medications, cosmetics, stress, and pore-clogging ingredients in skin and hair products
Your progress will be closely monitored by a Face Reality Certified Acne Specialist who will make sure you have the best regimen for your skin - making adjustments, if necessary, to get your skin healthy and clear in the fastest way possible.
What are adjustments to home care? We assess your skin every two weeks to see if we can make your regimen a bit stronger. We do not want your skin to get used to products, but also not make the regimen so strong that your skin gets dry and irritated. This method will keep your skin clearing up. It’s important to know that if adjustments are not made, your progress may stall. If, for some reason, you cannot make it in for a treatment, you must contact your Acne Specialist to get your next set of instructions for home care adjustment.
At Golden Hour Skin Clinic, we believe education is power. Our esthetician Becca is constantly going to advanced training to learn the newest education and treatment techniques. She is highly trained in microneedling and has been trained by Skinpen and Herbal Skin Solutions. Please Note: Do not look up microneedling on YouTube!!! You will be terrified. We highly recommend if you are investing in Microneedling, that you upgrade to the AnteAGE Growth Factor Solution due to it accelerating healing time and providing advanced results. How does it work?
The micro channels cause keratinocytes and fibroblasts to produce numerous growth factors to induce collagen and elastin production, that in turn generate new skin cells to repair itself. Blood supply is also enhanced without leaving any damage to the epidermis at all. Over the following weeks the skin becomes thicker, plumper and more youthful.
What conditions can be treated?

How will I look after the treatment?
Immediately following the treatment you will look red, resembling moderate sunburn. The skin will feel warm and slightly tight. This will normally reduce within the same day, with only slight redness the following day. You can return to most normal activities that day.
How many treatments will I need?
This will be dependent on a number of factors including age, area being treated, skin condition and damage. In most cases it is usually a course of either 3 or 6 treatments, generally spaced between 4 and 8 weeks apart. It is recommended a one-off treatment is performed every 6 months to maintain the effects.
Are there any side effects?
Microneedling is safe, with minimal side effects or risks associated. The skin will be red in appearance for a couple of hours following microneedling treatment, much like moderate sunburn, with some minor bleeding and bruising possible. The area will feel warm, dry or tight for a short while. Other side effects typically include minor flaking or dryness of the skin, with scab formation in rare cases. If you have a history of cold sores, this could possibly flare up after treatment.
Is there anyone who is unable to get Microneedling done?
Microneedling is suitable for most skin types, however, it is not suitable for clients who:
- Have used Roaccutane (isotretinoin) within the last 6 months.
- Have open wounds, cuts or abrasions to the skin.
- Have had radiation treatment within the last year.
- Have a current outbreak of herpes simplex (cold sores) active acne, or any other infection or chronic skin condition in the area to be treated.
- Have areas of the skin that are numb or lack sensation.
- Are pregnant or breast feeding.
- Have a history of poor wound healing.
Does Microneedling really work?
Microneedling is supported by clinical studies, and shown to be an effective non-surgical and non-ablative treatment for a variety of skin conditions. These include aging, (wrinkles, fine lines, and stretch marks), scarring (acne and surgical), as well as cellulite and hyperpigmentation. Studies have also shown that microneedling is often a better treatment than dermabrasion, chemical peels, and laser resurfacing. It is proven to be just as effective in its ability to stimulate collagen and elastin production. Regular microneedling can thicken skin, smooth scars of all sizes, and erase wrinkles.

This treatment is 100% customized to your skin's very specific needs. This treatment is only done after you have received two basic DMK treatments. How are DMK Enzyme treatments different from normal cosmetic facials?
Cosmetic facials are very nice and relaxing, but they often only focus on the outside. They exfoliate dead skin, moisturize dry skin, hydrate fine lines, help to temporarily dry out pimples… BUT their results are temporary and they do not improve or address the problem that caused the issues in the first place. That is where DMK skin revision comes in! DMK enzyme therapy treatments are designed to work to improve the skin at the cellular level. How does Enzyme Therapy work?
DMK enzyme masques are capable of tightening the skin progressively and removing impurities from the skin cells by a process known as reverse osmosis. Reverse osmosis is a “back-flushing” action that forces fluids through the membrane around the cells, cleaning out all impurities and leaving behind a clean, healthy skin cell.
DMK Enzyme Therapy treatments act on three very important systems — the facial muscles, the blood vessels of the skin, and the lymphatic system— to heal your skin. When these systems are all working together and working properly, your skin will be functioning at it’s best capability.
What is the plasmatic effect?
Oxygen is carried to your skin by blood vessels and capillaries. Once the enzyme mask is applied, your body temperature helps to activate the enzymatic action on and within your skin. The enzyme treatment mask then hardens and creates a downward pressure which stimulates the circulatory system to pump fresh oxygenated blood throughout the capillaries, creating a subtle dilation and creating what we call the Plasmatic Effect—improving cellular oxygen uptake and delivering fresh nutrients to the skin (true oxygen therapy). For some, the results are very visible after the enzyme mask are removed! Don’t worry if your plasmatic effect is not visible, the enzymes are still working to heal your skin.
How many treatments will I need?
A treatment plan will be created especially for you after a consult/your first enzyme therapy treatment but to give a bit of insight… if you have severe acne, you’d need 10-12 enzyme therapy treatments in a 6-month period PLUS you must follow a strict DMK home prescriptive plan.
Likewise, if you are wanting to treat hyperpigmentation or fine lines, plan on 6-8 enzyme treatments every 2-3 weeks PLUS your at-home DMK prescriptive products. If you have fairly normal skin and would like to reach optimal skin functioning and keep it that way, we would recommend coming to see us every 4-6 weeks for your enzyme therapy treatment and, of course, your DMK home prescriptives.
*Please note, that to ensure the best skin revision possible, you need to commit to DMK. Think of the DMK treatments as the gym, your skin technician as your trainer, and the home prescriptives as your diet. You cannot get your body in shape with 1 training session and eating junk, just like you cannot get your skin in shape with 1 treatment while using ineffective products. Give DMK a real try, your skin will thank you!
